Noreen Hyacinth Peers

Peers, Noreen Hyacinth - formerly of Truro, passed away October 29th, 2014 at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. She was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert & Mable Allen; husband, Willis; son, Gregory. She is survived by sons, Clair (Pauline), Lower Onslow; Bruce (Holly), Gulf Shore; grandchildren, Riley Goedkoop (Wouter), Holland; Courtney Gillis (Bruce) Calgary, Alberta; Brianna, Princeport, Colchester Co., ; Marissa, North River Colchester Co.,; Seth, British Columbia; great grand-children, Mia & Benjamin, Holland; Isla & Jasper, Calgary, Alberta; several nieces & nephews. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family having been predeceased by nine siblings. In her younger years she was a homemaker at the farm in Wallace Bay where she belonged to the order of the Eastern Star, and the Wallace Bay Women’s Institute. After moving to Truro she was employed at the Nova Scotia Youth Training Center as a Councilor. Her retirement years were enjoyed spending time with family & especially her five grandchildren all of whom she adored and spoiled at every opportunity. She enjoyed her almost daily trips downtown and was noted for her flare for fashion and her hand made clothes. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. Reverend David MacNaughton officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home and the interment will be held in the Wallace Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wallace Bay Cemetery Corp.
