It is with profound sadness that the family of Malcolm Hamish MacKenzie-Hiscock announce his passing, on Oct. 30, 2014, in Sydney, N.S.
Born in Toronto in 1998, Malcolm was the beloved son of Kerrianne MacKenzie and Todd Hiscock, and the loving brother of Elizabeth MacKenzie-Hiscock.
Malcolm was also blessed with the love and attention of his grandparents, Margaret and Francis MacKenzie of New Waterford and Jean Hiscock of Whitney Pier.
A Grade 10 student of Sydney Academy, Malcolm was a member of the Sydney Academy football team and a member of Sydney Minor Hockey. An avid snowboarder, he enjoyed many days at Ski Ben Eoin. He was vice-president of the Student Council at Sherwood Park Junior High. He was a natural storyteller and at an early age he expressed his talents on stage, acting in plays with his father. He leaves behind memories of side-splitting scenes at family gatherings, where he held the floor with his imitations and keen wit. He was a musician and loved playing guitar. He loved the company of his friends and family and his sense of humour, joke-telling, and accents were a gift to all who knew him. He was a loving, loyal friend to many. All will miss his infectious laughter and kind heart.
Left to mourn him are his parents, grandparents, and his sister, Elizabeth. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He will be missed immeasurably.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, James Hiscock.
Visitation will occur on Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Donations in Malcolm’s memory may be made to the Sydney Academy Scholarship Fund or to a charity of choice.
