FOSTER, REV. ROBERT D. - It is with great sadness that the family of Rev. Robert D. Foster announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born June 26, 1933 in East Florenceville, NB, a son of the late George and Ada (Oakes) Foster. Rev. Robert Foster was an ordained minister with the U.P.C. International having pastored in Harvey, Geary and McAdam, NB. Through his years of ministry, he served as Principle of Northeast Christian College, Fredericton, also served as District Secretary with the Atlantic District Board and served a 2 year term as Regional Executive Presbyter for Canada with U.P.C.I. He was also an Honorary Presbyter. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, the former Barbara M. Hatt. Robert took great joy in raising his children, Janice Foster, Winona Foster, Jerry (Wanda) Foster and Stephen (Lori) Foster and was continually delighted by his grandchildren, Erica, Breanan, Emma and Courtney. He is also survived by special extended family, Terry and Sally Kennedy and boys and Tricia McAleer. He also leaves behind a sister, Mary Miner, sisters-in-law, Madonna Stewart and Joyce French and brother-in-law Reid (Shirley) Hatt as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, a sister Ruth Boucher (late Darrold) and a brother Averil Foster predeceased him.
You are invited to meet with the family at Capital Community Church, 71 Downing Street, Fredericton on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the afternoon or between 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the evening. A service celebrating the life of Rev. Robert D. Foster will take place from the church on Thursday, November 6 at 1:00 PM. Officiating clergy will be Rev. Terry Brewer, Rev. Mark Noel and Rev. Raymond Woodward. Interment will be in the Preston Carr Cemetery, Geary, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Northeast Christian College, 128 River St., P.O. Box 22017, Fredericton, NB E3A 5T6.
