LANDRY, DISMAS - 1918 - 2014 - Dismas Landry, 96, of Residence O’Bon Soins in Shediac and formerly of Cap-Pelé, passed away at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Born May 18, 1918 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Patrick and Elise (Porelle) Landry. A well-known member of his community, Dismas was a carpenter prior to his retirement, former member of the parish council and Golden Age Club in Cap-Pelé. He enjoyed sport fishing and had a passion for baseball. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters: Emma LeBlanc (Olivier) of Moncton and Jacqueline Thériault (Jean-Marie Vienneau) of Shediac; four sons: Valmont (Charline) of Cap-Pelé, Alvin (Hélène Paulin) of Moncton, Maurice (Linda Cormier) and André (Sylvie) both of Grand-Barachois; nine grandchildren: Chantal, Daniel, Tania, Mélanie, Patrick, Vanessa, Pascal, Sylvain and Martin; five great-grandchildren: Antoine, Chanelle, Geneviève, Ella and Gabrielle, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Olive (2011); one son, Ulysse (2008); four brothers: Léandre, Napoléon, Joseph and Julien; three sisters: Clara, Lina and Antoinette; one son in-law, Adrien Thériault.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642 Ch. Acadie, Cap-Pelé (532-3297) on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 1 p.m. until time of departure (1:50 p.m.). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Thérèse d’Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Dismas, a contribution to the Ste-Thérèse d’Avila cemetery in Cap-Pelé or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
