Edward "Ed" Charles Carnegie
October 14, 1949 - November 6, 2014
Ed, the middle son of Basil and Doreen Carnegie formerly of Harris, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma. Ed was predeceased by his mother, Doreen Carnegie and brother-in-law, Dave Andres (Eileen). Leaving to mourn Ed are his wife of 32 years, Wendy (Kirk); daughter, Teresa Carnegie (Surrey); son, Robert Carnegie (Vancouver); father, Basil Carnegie; sisters, Eileen Andres, Sandra (Miles) Ryan all of Kelowna and brothers, Earl Carnegie (Calgary), Les (Jacqueline) Carnegie (Lake Country); in-laws, Hugh and Marg Kirk (Colonsay), Shelley (Dale) Kristjansson (Florida), Marnie (Blake) Johnson (Weyburn); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was involved in many ventures in his life, a mechanic, owner of Carnegie Concrete and Finishing, a small business owner as well as being a renovator and a truck driver. Another great joy in Ed’s life was stock car racing. Ed joined up with his best “bud” Dave, to help take the #38 to victory. Dave, Sherry, Bryan, Corey and Dustin (Dusty) were not only great friends but were considered family. Ed also built a “trike” that was his pride and joy. Ed enjoyed many things in life. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, this was his way of honoring both his parents. Ed just received his 20 year membership pin in October of this year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice. Ed’s family would like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic as well as the very caring Doctors and Nurses of St. Paul’s Palliative Care for making Ed’s last few days so peaceful. A Celebration of Ed’s Life took place on Saturday, November 8th at the Nutana Legion in Saskatoon.
