McFARLANE, GERALD "GERRY" R. - Gerald “Gerry” R. McFarlane, 69, of Lutes Mountain, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, November 7, 2014, following a brief illness. Born in Sussex, he was the son of the late Ralph and Sarah (Crothers) McFarlane. Gerry was a former Funeral Director and a retired owner / operator of Mountain Florals. He was well known locally for providing the music (playing and singing) at many funerals in the Moncton area. He attended the United Church of Canada, was an avid gardener (vegetables and flowers), birdwatcher, he enjoyed music and spending quality time with his many friends at his summer residence in Grande Digue. Gerry will be sadly missed by his brother, Lawrence (Beth); niece, Susan Mason (Gary); nephews, Jimmy McFarlane (Sandra) and Peter McFarlane, all of Sussex; several grand-nieces, grand-nephews and one great-grand-nephew; several close and loyal friends.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Stilesville Cemetery.
