DOUGLAS, ELIZABETH "BETTY" - Betty Douglas, loving wife of George Douglas for 72 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 10th, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Chatham on December 10, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Vera (Cusack) Carvell. In her younger years, Betty worked at Zellers, MRA’s, and Canadian Tire. She was a member of the St. Joseph`s CWL, and recently received her 60 year pin; she was also involved in the R.C.I.A program at St. Joseph`s Church. She enjoyed card games at both St. Joachim’s, and St. Anne’s, and was a founding member of the Loch Lomond Community 45`s card club. In her earlier years, Betty enjoyed traveling with George and their friends.
