It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Johnson, age 66, on November 10, 2014, at the Palliative Care Unit, L. A. Miller Centre. He was surrounded by his wife, children and sisters as he was taken away from his pain. Predeceased by his parents, Pat and Rose (nee Doyle) Johnson; brother Gerald Johnson in 2013, and several brothers- and sisters-in-law. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 45 years, Shan (nee Murphy), daughters Janice (Dave) Marshall of St. John's and Jodi (Greg) Kelly-Johnson of Mount Pearl, sons Joey (Sherry) and Eddie (Rachel), both of Ottawa; his loving grandchildren Matthew, Trey, Jacob, and his little dancer Megan; sisters Liz (Ray) Hinojosa, Angela (Ron) Chafe, Elaine Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was a real-estate appraiser for over 40 years. He will be sorely missed by his clients and colleagues, especially those at BMO. He was a gentle soul and treated everybody the same. He taught his children about the virtues of hard work and everything he did, he did for his family. Special thanks to the Community Health Care Center, especially Tina, and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, especially Dr. Siddiqui for his amazing care and bed-side manner, to the exceptional staff at the palliative care unit, and to our many family and friends who were by our side and helped us through this journey with our husband and father. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-9pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will take place from Mary Queen of Peace Church at 10am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
