Caleb John Doary, 17, of Hatchet Lake passed away Nov. 14, 2014. He was born into the loving arms of his parents Corina (Hoskin) and Kelly Doary in Halifax on Jan. 18, 1997.
He is survived by his sister Melissa who contributed greatly in the shaping of who this young man became. He was also greatly influenced by his loving grandparents Roger and Judy Hoskin of Victoria Mines, and Roddie and Margie Doary of Sydney River.
Although his life was cut much too short he lived every day to its fullest. His interests over the years included reading, rock climbing, camping, soccer, hockey, martial arts, riding dirt bikes, Christian Youth Group, chess club, debate club and online gaming all while excelling in his studies. He was a grade 12 French immersion student in the International Baccalaureate program at Halifax West High School. This past summer, through the YMCA’s work exchange program, he lived with a family in Montreal and worked at a children’s camp.
He equally enjoyed traveling to Sweden with his soccer team, attending family reunions in Cape Breton, southern vacations with his family and hanging out with his friends. It was all about making memories and it is for these memories we will be forever grateful.
His warm smile and positive attitude was contagious. If you had the pleasure of meeting Caleb you couldn’t help but love him. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
Caleb’s favorite color was red. As a tribute the family encourages everyone to wear a little something red when they join in the celebration of his life.
