It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Byron on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late George and Sadie (Dawe) Harris
He was employed as a labor worker for many years. He was thought of as a jack of all trades.
Byron was in his element when working outdoors on cars or with tools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Byron especially loved being with his wife, this was apparent through all of his romantic gestures.
Byron is survived by his loving wife, Anne (Dye) Harris; his children, Bernadette (Raymond), Natasha (Stanley), Stephanie (Kevin), Robert (Meaghan), Leon (Leah), Byron Jr. (Rachelle); his precious grandchildren, Riley, Jeydon, Lucas, and Alijah.
He is also survived by his sister, Beverly; brothers, Reginald, Winston (Glenna) and Barry (Doreen); as well as several nieces and nephews and his best friend, Harold Harnum.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Pearl and Shirley; brothers, David and Bill; brother-in-law, Gary and a dear friend, Ann Sollazzo.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 from 12-2 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow.
