JENNIFER DIXON

Jennifer Joan Dixon
December 18, 1974 - November 15, 2014
Jennifer Joan Dixon passed away peacefully at the Elrose Health Centre on Saturday, November 15 with her parents by her side. She is lovingly remembered by her parents Dennis and Linda, and brother Jason (Nictima) and their children, Talyn and Sayla and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jennifer was predeceased by her brother Collin (Sept. 10th, 2014), her grandparents, Ernie and Edith Dixon and Frank and Lorraine Hogue and step-grandparent Roy Dowson, and also by her Uncle Bill Dixon.
Jennifer was born on December 18, 1974 at the Swift Current Union Hospital. She was the third child born to complete their family. She took kindergarten to grade 10 in Elrose, and grades 11 & 12 at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School. She graduated in 1993. She then returned to Elrose and was a nanny for Shelby Hopkins and treasured every day with her. She then moved to Regina to live with the Catholic Nuns where she thought she could be Catholic so she would have a good place to live. While there she took a computer course. This enabled her to work at Hooves and Paws veterinary clinic in Elrose until her disability worsened and she was no longer able to complete her duties. Jennifer always had a strong love for animals and leaving this job devastated her. She continued to live at home until circumstances would not allow this any longer. She then moved into the Elrose Health Centre in 2001. She quickly came to capture the hearts of everyone that worked there. Jennifer had a great love for wrestlers (Thank you so much Bill Ritz and Lee Billard), country music and good looking men!! A memorable highlight of Jennifer's life was when her dear friend, Shirley Smith, took her to the Craven Country Jamboree. She always enjoyed "Ladies Night Out" in Elrose and even won the diamond ring one time. The whole hall cheered when this happened. When you think of smiles, you think of Jennifer. She always had one for everyone. Her favourite thing was to visit with her dog Jackson and her Dad. This brought much joy to her. Jackson was able to be with Jennifer during her last hours and knew there was something wrong, he cried and cried, stepped on her, knocked off her mask and kissed her face on the cheek. His way to say goodbye! It made her day when her brother Jason and his family would come to see her. Sayla and Talyn gave her a lot of love and she cherished every moment. Her Mom was always there to bring her favourite foods to her. She looked forward to those times together as mother and daughter. Jennifer had many dear friends throughout the years. She had so many good times with them and we as a family thank you all for that. Jennifer loved her birthday parties and to have ALL of her classmates attend. As a teenager she loved to bake and shop. "Tunes & Trinkets" in Rosetown was her favourite store. Dennis, Ali and Gerri were so good to her. They always made sure that she had all her favourite CD's. She also loved to drive like her favourite movie, "Fast & Furious". Her favourite thing to bake was cookies and appetizers. How we all enjoyed them! Jennifer enjoyed swimming, riding her bike and horses. When she first entered the Health Centre she thrilled in being able to hand out the Halloween candy to all the kids. She also thought she was the ombudsman for all the residents by being able to help them. She also loved "Chubs" the resident cat at the home. Jennifer was a true believer in "Angels". God now has another one among him. Rest in peace dear girl, we will love you always and miss you forever.
