DOBSON, Dr. J. ARTHUR - 1925 - 2014 - Art Dobson of Riverview passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Joe and Orpah Dobson (Russell) and was an Anaesthesiologist and Surgical Assistant at The Moncton Hospital for over 60 years. Art was an avid outdoorsman who had a profound love of all things green. He founded the Dobson Hiking Trail so that others could share his passion. He was also heavily involved in Scouting, and was at times a race car driver, a musher (dog sled), and a high altitude glider pilot. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Marilyn; daughters, Debbie (Ed) Dobson-Hall of Annapolis Valley, NS, Melanie (Graeme) Dobson of Halifax, NS, Becky Dobson of Halifax, NS; sons, Andrew of Kingston, ON, Tristan (Jen) of Greenwood, NS, Kim (Ramona) of Georgetown, ON; sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Bailey of Black River, NS, Catherine (Jack) Sharpe of Comox, BC; several nieces and nephews and his beloved eight grandchildren. Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by a sister, Peggy McLaughlin.
The family would like to extend an invitation for friends, colleagues and relatives to join them between the hours of 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2014, to share and celebrate Art’s life at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).
