It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Bernie Antle on Nov. 27, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Bill and Mary (Bourque) Antle.
He was employed with the Cape Breton Post, and the Labourer's Union until his retirement. He enjoyed playing darts and cards. He was also an avid baseball fan, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Maurina (McNabb); his children, Susan (Eddie) Rozicki, Sydney, Kevin Antle, New Glasgow; five grandchildren, Eddie Jr. and Tanya Rozicki, Lauren, Kelsey, and Michael Antle; two great-grandchildren, Madison Rozicki and Ethan Hutchinson. He is also survived by sisters, Dodie (John) MacLeod, Anne Burke; brothers, Harold (Irene) Antle and Billy (Patsy) Antle, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Leo Burke.
The family would like to thank the staff of the VON, Dr. Archibald, Dr. Paul MacDonald, Sandra and Carole as well as the nurses on 4C.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 from 12-2 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart Function Clinic.
