It is with great regret that the family of Carole Dianne Shepherd age 66 of Cole Harbour and formerly of Amherst announce her passing on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Bissett Court Nursing Home, Cole Harbour, NS.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late William Malcolm (Bill) and Grace Victoria (Crowell) Shepherd.
We will all miss you deeply. You could tell Carole anything and she would answer you honestly and without judgement. With her very caring personality she always wanted the best for all of us and couldn’t wait to spend time with her grandchildren. Her passion was nature and the love of animals. As I can remember at a very young age, my mother took care of a family of raccoons who lost their mother and nurtured them back to health despite everyone telling her they are wild animals and you shouldn’t… That’s my mother for you in a nut shell. Towards the end of her life she knew her time with us was getting shorter. She will always be in our hearts. She knew she was going to Heaven to be in a better place.
Carole will be sadly missed by her sons Andrew McNeil and Colin Smith (Megan Baxter), grandchildren Jessica, Addison, Lyla and Quinn, step grandchildren Rowan and Moira Embree. Sister Paula Shepherd and brother Greg (Karen).
Besides her parents, Carole was predeceased by a daughter Kimberley Collins and brother William John (Jack).
Funeral service will be held early in 2015, time and place to be announced.
