Richard Alan  Jesso

NEW GLASGOW – Richard Alan Jesso, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 29, 2014.
Surviving is his father, Richard Jesso, Newfoundland; brother Jim Lewis, sister Kathy Jesso, nephew Roger Callahan, niece Heather Callahan, and niece Danni Lamb.
He was preceded by his mother Joyce Lewis.
Alan, known as “Al” by all his friends, was educated at the Community College in Dartmouth, NS and worked in the manufacturing industry for years.
Al was a gentle man who was loved by all who knew him, especially those he referred to as his family at the Salvation Army Thrift stores. He was an important part of our family of staff and volunteers. He volunteered for a number of years at the 134 James Street, New Glasgow location, Salvation Army. People who came to donate items were met by this gentle and caring man. Al greeted individuals with a warm smile and kind word of thanks for their donations.
Al loved to bicycle, play his music and always enjoyed and truly appreciated a good meal.
A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, at the Salvation Army Church in Westville, 2011 Diamond Street. All who knew Al are welcomed to attend. Captain Dolores Abbott will be officiating.
Donations may be made in Alan’s memory to Westville Salvation Army.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow
