HOWE, CAPTAIN MALCOLM DOUGLAS - The death of Malcolm Douglas Howe of Saint John occurred on Thursday, December 4th, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton. Born in Saint John on November 22nd, 1941, he was the son of the late Jack Edward and May (Durnian) Howe. Malcolm was a retired Captain with the Saint John Fire Department and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Malcolm’s passion was to drive, if he wasn’t driving, he was teaching others to drive.
He was a dedicated “West Sider” and had many fond memories of Lorneville and St. Stephen. Malcolm is survived by a son Greg Howe (Dawn) of Saint John, daughter Marlene Howe Doley (Rob) of Fredericton, grandsons: Kyle Morand, Marcus Howe, granddaughters: Madison Morand, Kathryn Doley, brother David Howe (Katherine) of Kingston, ON, sister Kathryn Richard of Saint John, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ruth Allaby, uncle Doe and aunt Mable McAllister who played a special role in his life.
Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, with visitation on Sunday, December 7th, from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Castle Funeral Home on Monday, December 8th at 2: 00 pm Rev. Andrew Morse officiating. Interment following the service in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in Malcolm’s memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, DOTS NB 110 Queen St. ,Fredericton, NB E3B 1A5.www.dotsnb.ca or a charity of the donor’s choice.
