Canton, Joyce Marina

Age 79, Truro Nova Scotia, went to heaven suddenly on December 6, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in Jolicure, New Brunswick November 2, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Daisy Dobson. Joyce was a former employee of Douglas Rogers Insurance Amherst, NS, as a filing clerk for a number of years, she worked as a front desk clerk at Keddys Motor Inn, Truro, NS then retired as a medical secretary having worked several years for Truro doctors. Joyce loved home decorating, preparing and maintaining annual family functions and get-togethers, gardening and sewing, Joyce loved spending time with her husband Fred of 60 years and her children, taking great pride in her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Everett and Daisy Dobson, and sister Helen. She is survived by her loving husband Fred, brother Harry Dobson (Grace Cavanagh) sister Joann Cook-Cameron, step brother Billy Dobson, stepsisters Patsy Richards (Bobby). Betty Richards (Wally), sons Gregory (Patricia) Halifax, NS, Fred (Andrea) Surrey, BC, Paul (Wouna) Shelburne, NS, Tom (Heather) Truro, NS, George (Heidi) Onslow Mtn., NS and only daughter April (Vicki), Hilden, NS. She was blessed with her 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm Sunday, December 14th at Colchester Community Funeral Home 512 Willow St. Truro, NS. Funeral service to commence at 2:00 pm with reception to follow. Burial to take place at the Truro Heights United Baptist Church cemetery, Truro Heights Road, following the reception. Flowers welcome and donations may be made to the Truro Heights United Baptist Church.
