HATFIELD, FREDA - It is with sadness the family of Freda Alberta Hatfield announces her passing at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home in Boiestown, NB on December 8, 2014. Freda was born in Avery’s Portage, NB on October 24, 1927 to the late William and Sophia (Dykeman) Brown. Freda loved to sew and knit, and was often found reupholstering a piece of furniture in need of repair. She was also a traveler, spending time in almost every major city in Canada with her husband, Perry. Freda is survived by her husband, Perry; daughter, Linda Lou Derrah; grandchildren, Ian, Craig (Allison), and Scott (Emily); great grandchildren, Tyson, Jarrod, and Brianna; brother, Lawrence Brown; daughter-in-law, Leola; brothers-in-law, Brian Hatfield and Stephen Hatfield (Dorothy) and sister-in-law, Carolyn LeBlanc (Edmund). She was predeceased by her parents; sons, Stephen and Lynnwood; grandson, Ross; brothers, Bryan, Sandy and Malcolm; sisters, Eleanor and Elaine; parents-in-law, Mary and Perry Hatfield and sister-in-law, Laura Hatfield.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Oromocto United Church on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lori Beth Sheffield-Bowles officiating. Interment will be in the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens at a later date. For those who wish, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Diabetes Association.
