Glendon Leckey

LECKEY, GLENDON - Glendon Percy Leckey of Chipman, passed away peacefully at the Chalmer’s Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 9th, 2014 at 92 years. Glendon was born in Coal Creek, on August 23rd, 1922, son of the late Charles and Violet (Nightingale) Leckey. He is survived by his children, Donna (John) Knox of Cumberland Bay, Betty (Lloyd) Turner of Fredericton, and Paul (Daryll Ann) Leckey of Oromocto, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Glendon was predeceased by his wife, Mildred M. (Brogan) Leckey in 2005; daughter, Eleanor; son, Douglas; sister, Velma Smyth; two brothers, Earl and Kenneth.
A Funeral Service will be held from the Chipman United Church on Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Betty-Jean Friedman officiating. Family will receive comfort at the Chipman Funeral Home (339-6612) on Friday, December 12th, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion service will take place on Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Interment will be made in the Red Bank United Church Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Glendon may be made to Chipman United Church or the donor’s choice.
