It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lana Joan Joseph age 67 of Amherst announce her passing on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in New Glasgow, NS she was a daughter of the late Hymie and Florence (LeBlanc) Hunter.
Lana worked for several years in the Mental Health Department at Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst and also worked for various local businesses.
She was an active member of the Nativity of Our Lady CWL for 25 years.
Lana will be sadly missed by her husband Richard of 39 years, two daughters Leighann (Rhys) Owain of Abuja, Nigeria and Nicolle (Frank) Wilson of Amherst, sisters Stephanie Hunter (Carson Richards) of Halifax, Gini Frail of Falmouth, NS, one brother David (Kathy) Hunter of Augusta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lana was predeceased by a brother in law Mark Frail.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst with Rev. David Hunter officiating.
Christmas time was always special to Lana and she always made a point of giving back so we would ask anyone wishing to give a donation in her memory do so to the Amherst Food Assistance Network.
