It is with greatest sorrow we announce the passing of Robert Kenny George of Chapel Island/Potlotek on Dec. 10, 2014.
He was the son of Gwenn Marshall and Mury George both of Potlotek.
Born in Sydney, N.S. at St Rita Hospital on March 18, 1994. Robert graduated from Richmond Academy in 2012. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing many different sports, but most of all, basketball and baseball. He was a giving man and gave his time and efforts to help the youth of Potlotek in their love of sports by coaching and as a recreation co-coordinator during the summer. Robert also represented Potlotek with pride in summer games competitions. He will always be remembered for his big smile and a twinkle in his eye. The smile was there for all to see as soon as he met you. The twinkle, more so if his beloved Maple Leafs had won.
Robert is survived by brothers, Andre and Wesley Marshall; sisters, Tracy and Kyra George, all of Potlotek; paternal grandparents, Kenny and Josephine George, Janvrin's Island; maternal grandparents, Kenzie Marshall (Diane) and Irene Johnson of Potlotek; as well as many aunts, uncles and nephew, Colton Marshall; godparents, Kenny Basque, Potlotek and Lorelei Richard, of Port Hawkesbury.
He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Michael.
Visitation will be held in the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel in Potlotek on Dec. 14, 2014 from 3 p.m. until Tuesday morning, Dec. 16, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Farewell will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Barra Head. Burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Barra Head. A Salite will follow the committal at the Potlotek Community Hall.
