Passed away at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Tuesday December 09, 2014 Ray Thorne of Calmer, age 63 years. Predeceased by parents; Jessie & James Thorne, grandparents, sister; Mary Keeping, & brother Lloyd Thorne. Leaving to mourn; wife Rita, 1 son Lloyd (Amanda), 2 daughters; Christine (Pat), & Crystal. 8 grandchildren; Jessica, Daniel, Autumn, Patrick, Sarah, Spencer, Lance, & Aiden. 2 sisters; Phylis (Herb), Hilda (Lloyd), 5 brothers; Wilbert (Betty), Jim (Sharon), Bob (Betty), Gerald (Audrey), Kelvin (Glory). Plus a large circle of other relatives & friends. Funeral service was conducted by Captain Charlene Hillier on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 2pm from the Salvation Army Citadel Fortune. Internment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery Fortune. Music was provided by the Salvation Army String Band. Pall Bearers were; Bob Thorne, Kelvin Thorne, Alfred Harris, Gerald Thorne, James Thorne, & Kevin Hillier. Donations in Ray’s memory may be made to the Thorne Family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren’s Funeral Home Grand Bank.
