New Glasgow - Joan Marie MacNeil, age 69, of New Glasgow, passed away, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John and Jean (Miller) Darroch. She was employed at the Tara Motel for 39 years. Her life revolved around her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by daughters: Cathy (David) Boutilier, Springville; Helen MacNeil, New Glasgow; Terri-Lynn MacNeil, Halifax; son: Joey, New Glasgow; grandchildren: Terry, Tamara, Felicia, Peter, Everett, Sherry, Steven and Rebecca; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers: Garfield (Ann), New Glasgow; John James (Linda), MacLellan’s Brook; sisters: Viola Richards, Ontario; Audrey (Dennis) Reid, Westville. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Terrance “Terry”, son, Ricky Allan and a sister, Gloria. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, with Rev. Bonnie Fraser officiating. Family flowers only please.
