Age 87, Sydney, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Dan Hugh and Marguret (Matheson) MacKinnon.
Jessie enjoyed spending time with her family, sharing stories of the past and hearing of the dreams and accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Sydney Pentecostal Church.
Jessie is survived by her children, Muriel (Wes) Murphy, Westmount, Hugh (Shirley) MacKay, Shelburne, Jean Cormier (Al Vidito), Shelburne, and Gordon (Joy) MacKay, Berwick. As well as her sister Mary Marguret Jones, Sydney and brother Donnie MacKinnon, New Victoria. Also her grandchildren, Jennie MacKay, Donna (Patrick) Hickey, Brian (Laura) Doucette, Leslie (Amanda) Doucette, Angela (Peter) Bragg, Jillian MacKay and five great-grandchildren. Jessie is also survived by four stepchildren, Joanne, Melvin, Johnnie and Barry.
In addition to her parents, Jessie was predeceased by her husband Jack Feener, former husband Donald MacKay and 13 brothers and sisters, John Willie, Alexander, Roye, Angus, Albert, Donald Hugh, Boyne, John Edward, Arthwell, Effie, Sadie, Cora, Mary (Sister).
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the MacGillivray Guest Home for the excellent care that was provided for Jessie while she lived there.
A visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, from 12-1 at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, N.S.
Memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Coole officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
