EILEEN MAUDE BATTISTE
July 15, 1944- December 29, 2014


It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Battiste announces her passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the age of 70. Born in Port aux Basques, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Clevett) Blackmore. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter, Roxanne Battiste (Dwayne Sheaves), Port aux Basques and son, Brainard (Lynn) Battiste, Bridgewater, NS grandchildren, Brooke, Bailey, David, Shawna and Todd and great grandchildren, Lily, Avah and Finn, brothers and sisters, George( Gloria) Blackmore, Digby, Nova Scotia, Gerald (Margaret) Blackmore, Port aux Basques, Jim (Darlene) Blackmore, Ester Pearce and Judy Keeping (Martin Demone), brother and sister in law Arch (Margaret) Osmond, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends, especially Betty Lillington, she was predeceased, by her husband, Frederick Battiste, brothers, Richard and Brainard, sisters, Lillian and Hannah. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 31 at 3 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jeffery Petten officiating. Interment followed at the St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers donations may to made to the family.
