Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Palliative Care Unit, Kings County Memorial Hospital on January 1, 2015. Doreen fought a courageous and lengthy battle with breast cancer.
Born in Sydney, N.S. She is survived by her loving husband, John Daniel (Dan) Bears; brother, Howard (Rosemary) Hasiuk; sister, Shirley Sanche (Paul Beaulieu); daughter, Natalie (Andrew) Bears-Mirtle; son, Darcy (Karen) Bears; and daughter, Amanda (Joe) Purchase; grandchildren, D'Arcy, Allie, Kai, Ben, Tyson, Zachary and Nathan. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Private memorial service at a later date.
