The death occurred at the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, of William “Bill” Gallant, of Halifax, NS, and formerly of Summerside, aged 87 years. Veteran of the Korean War. Born in Roxbury, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Joseph and Emily (Hierlihy) Gallant. Survived by children Gale (Bill) MacAdoo, Kingston, ON; Sheila (Allister) MacIntyre, Elginburg, ON; Billy (Cathy), Augustine Cove; Wendy Trowsdale (Nelson Albert), Summerside; and Paul (Susan Judson), Charlottetown; grandchildren Laura MacIntyre, Pamela (Jesse) Brydon, Michelle (Scott) Turnbull, David Edmunds, Nicole (Nick) Fraser, Krystle (Rob) Barchard, Joey Trowsdale (Jennifer Boyles), Ernest Trowsdale (Nicky Snow), Marshall (Kristen) Gallant, Qiao Gallant; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Clifford (Theresa) Gallant, Eric (Liz) Gallant, Sue Simpson, Florence Gray; and by a sister-in-law Millie Gallant. Predeceased by his first wife Marion (Halliday); second wife Angèle (Trudeau); sisters Louise, Julia, Josie; brothers Orille and Wesley; and by a brother-in-law Doug Simpson. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Monday from 3-6 p.m. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. or Parkinson Society would be appreciated. Due to family allergies, please refrain from wearing scents.
