BANMAN: Isaac C. fondly known as Ike, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at The Kyle & District Health Centre in Kyle, SK. He was born on July 22, 1935 at Section 19,Township 14, Range 11 West 3rd, SK. He grew up in the Vowlt Laight (Wooded Coulee) and attended Lens East School. In 1954 Ike helped his parents move to the Rosenhof area and shortly after he moved to Swift Current and was employed at various places. Ike moved to Kyle, SK. in 1970 and was employed by the Department of Highways. A couple of times over the years Ike moved away from Kyle but always came back "home". His last move was to the Kyle Health Care Centre, in August 2009. Ike was of a very generous nature; purchasing trophies and metals for the kids hockey team and hated to miss a game when his nephew David was playing. He got immense joy giving out pens and calenders. He enjoyed socializing and going for coffee. Years ago one of his great pleaures was riding his horse Prince in the country side, his dog "Brownie", as well coffee at Teichroebs, Penners and Brauns. Ike had many hobbies including braiding and hooking rugs from baling twine and cloth. He read a variety of subjects but especically enjoyed western novels. He was proud to be a member of the Kyle Elks Lodge #169 and an ardent Saskatchewan Rider fan. Ike enjoyed all kinds of gagets and technology and would have loved a cell phone with camera, facebook and e-mail, but due to failing eye sight this was impossible for him. Ike was predeceased by his parents Johann and Margaretha (Krahn) Banman; sisters Agnes, Anna, Katherine, Margaret and Mary; brother John; and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sisters: Susan (Harry) Wiebe, and Pauline (Tony) Johner; brother Frank (Lynn); and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the Kyle Elks Community Hall on January 2, 2015 with Reverend David Nevett officiating. The service began with Kiara Banman leading the reading of the 23 psalm. Tributes from the family were given by Carla North, Jackie Neustaeter, and Ben Banman. Scripture readings by Bailie (Jansen) Keith, and Jim Banman. Lynn Banman did the Prayers of the People and Darlene Smith was the organist. The interment was at the Clearwater Cemetery with pallbearers David Banman, Jim Banman, Kevin Banman, Pete Heinrichs, Jake Schlamp, and Lloyd Wiebe, all nephews of Ike. Memorial donations to the Children's Hospital Foundation # 1-345 3rd Ave South, Saskatoon, SK. S7K 1M6 would be appreciated by the family. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
