In the early hours of January 3, 2015 Donna Marie Gatland (Knight) passed away peacefully at Totem Lodge care unit in Sechelt British Columbia, caused by complications of dementia and chest congestion.
She is survived by her sister Leila Dobbs (Knight) of Exeter, Ontario, husband Alfred Lloyd Gatland of Sechelt, British Columbia, and daughters Heather Marie and Nancy Leanne of Gibsons and Sechelt. According to her wishes there will be no services and her ashes will be distributed in the ocean so she can travel the world.
Donna was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, attending the University of Saskatchewan. She was employed at CFQC-TV in Saskatoon, then moved to London, Ontario, and was employed by CFPL-TV, where she met her husband Lloyd. Donna finished her working days at Ford Talbotville, Ontario, then retired to the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, in the late ‘80s.
She will be remembered as a warm and caring person, and by many for her lovely voice and many musical performances.
