It is with great sadness that the family of the late Katherine Payne-Young announce her passing at Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Pt, NL, on Tuesday January 6th, 2015, at the age of 87 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband Gerald & four sons: Clarence (Carol) in Massey Drive; Eric in Woody Pt,; Junior (Christine) in St. John's; & Terry in Dauphin, Manitoba; & four daughters: Golda in Oshawa, Ontario; Yvonne Compton in St.John's; Joy (Serge) Peloguin in Trenton, Ontario; & Peggy (Melvin) Reid in Deer Lake. She will be missed by her sister Winnie (Willis) & family in Corner Brook & Gladys of New Harbour. Also predeceasing her was her sister Bertha (George) Canning of Stephenville & sister Dorothy in New Harbour. Katherine has a large number of grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her son Lodrick Rowsell, Cyril Rowsell & James Payne. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, on Friday, January 9th, 2015, from the hours of 2-4 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 10th, 2015, at 11:00 am from the Salvation Army Citadel on Church Street in Deer Lake, NL, with Major Wayne Pike officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot at Mt.
