FINN, HONORABLE GILBERT - 1920 - 2015 - The Honorable Gilbert Finn, 94, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB. Born in Inkerman, NB, he was the son of the late Ephrem and the late Felicitée (née: Finn) Finn. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine (née: Boudreau); six daughters: Louise (late David) McIntyre of Dieppe, Marthe Finn (Guy Maugeais) of Dieppe, Yvette Finn (Jacques Léger) of Caraquet, Suzanne (Jacques) Séguin of Ottawa, ON, Thérèse (Donat) McGraw of Caraquet and Céline Finn of Moncton; three sons: Pierre (Odette) of Dieppe, Jacques of Dieppe and Jean (Sylvie Lévesque) of Fredericton; three sisters: Germaine (late Edgar) Lanteigne of Shippagan, Angelina (late Judes) Landry of Caraquet and Hélène (late Hédard) Mallet of Shippagan; two brothers: Alphonse (late Anita) of Shippagan and Édouard (Alice) of Inkerman; 20 grandchildren: Julie, Suzanne, Lissa, Adelle, Véronique, Germain, Ghislaine, Marie-Ève, Christiane, Amélie, Caroline, Philippe, Marie-Hélène, Annie, Mario, Marie-France, Alexis, Xavier, Dominique and Eric; 21 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters: Évangéline Thériault, Gilberte (late Roger) Marcotte and Lorraine (late Hector) Mallet; one brother, Ephrem (late Marthe) and also by one great grandson, Trevon.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at 11 am. Interment in Saint-Anselme parish cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the U de M – G. Finn Bursary Fund or a mass offering would be appreciated by the family.
