Wilfred Lester Michael, 48, Waycobah First Nation, died the evening of Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Baddeck, he was a son of the late Wilfred Joseph and Dorothy Jane (Googoo) Michael. Lester enjoyed playing baseball with the Waycobah Warriors and was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
Lester was blessed with his common-law spouse, Yvette Maloney, Indian Brook; sons, Stanley, Wilfred, Parnel and Gavin and the mother of his sons, Juanita Pierro, all of Wagmatcook First Nation; sisters, Bernadette Young, Janie Michael and Mary Kate (Katy) Michael, all of Waycobah First Nation; brother, Andrew Joe (Anna), Waycobah First Nation; sisters-in-law, Arlene Michael and Madeline Michael; godmother, Margaret Poullette, Waycobah First Nation; godchildren, Madonna (Wayne) Prosper, Kelsey Stevens, Cordell Pierro; numerous devoted nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces; as well as true friends of various ages.
Lester was predeceased by brothers, Kaptin Alexander and Clarence; godfather, Michael John Paul.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Rd., Waycobah First Nation. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday from Saint Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah with Fr. Paul Abbass officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
