MELONEY, NELSON HERMAN - It is with sadness that the family of Nelson Meloney announce his passing at home on January 13th, 2015 at the age of 75. Born on December 27th, 1939, he was the husband of Hazel (Girouard) Meloney of Lincoln. In addition to his wife, Hazel, Nelson leaves behind his children, Kenny (Carol), Wendy Parish, and Debbie Anthony (Blaine); grandchildren, Chad, Nadia, Meagan, Shania, R.J., Stevie, Jamie and Mark; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Skarlett; brother, Fred (Gail) and sisters, Elizabeth and Winnie (Alex). Nelson was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Florence (Hare); daughter, Eleanor Axworthy; and infant brother, Robert. Nelson was a wonderful father and husband who will be dearly missed by his family. He served with the Canadian Military for 11 years in the Black Watch and RCR and following that he worked for GAP Autoparts until his retirement. He was President of the Black Watch in Oromocto and an avid NASCAR fan.
There will be no funeral service. A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, January 16th, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm. The Black Watch Association New Brunswick Chapter will hold a tribute service beginning at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nelson's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
