STURGEON, LILLIAN - Mrs. Lillian Margaret (Curtis) Sturgeon, wife of the late David Sturgeon, passed at the Mt. Saint Joseph Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 94. Born in Gray Rapids, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Violet (Smallwood) Curtis. She was a retired cook at MF Esson’s & Sons and a member of the New Life United Pentecostal Church, Blackville. She is survived by her daughters, Vada Sullivan (Everett), Anita Jones (Vance), Wilda Taylor (late Ernie), Faye MacRae (Brian), Edna Carnahan (Royce), Brenda Barry (Donald) and Sandra Donovan (Jeff); her sons, Tom (Hulda), Howard (Rosella), Ralph (Mary Lou), Jerry (Josephine), Alvin (Linda), Randy (Cathy) and Philip (Carmel); sisters, Francis Betts and Phoebe Clowater; her 48 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren and 20+ great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Blake Sturgeon (late Shirley) and Sterling Sturgeon (Mary Ellen), her brothers, Charles, David, Chester, Burns and Howard (Hod) Curtis, her sisters, Leora McCoy and Eloise McLeod.
Mrs. Lillian Margaret (Curtis) Sturgeon is resting at the New Life United Pentecostal Church, Blackville, with visitation on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at the New Life United Pentecostal Church at 2 pm with John Stewart and Brother Beech officiating. Burial will take place in the Anglican Church Cemetery, Gray Rapids, later in the spring. In memory of Lillian donations may be made to Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home.
