FRENETTE, ALVIN JOSEPH "AL" - Alvin Joseph “Al” Frenette, 79, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Randolph and Celia (Mallet) Frenette. Al had a long and successful career in banking and finance. In later years he worked as a successful real estate agent. He had a lifelong interest in music, had his own musical group and thoroughly enjoyed performing and entertaining in his musical endeavours. Al enjoyed working in his woodshop and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Al will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Vaunna (Hickey); children, Kevin (Johanne) and Janice Frenette (Don Lowe), both of Moncton, Nancy Gatien (Greg) of Brandon, MB and Natalie Frenette (Ray LeBlanc) of Moncton; grandchildren, Max, Alex, Nicholas, Beatrice, Jayden and Tyson; sisters, Hermance Melanson (late Paul), Jeanette Beaulieu (Frank) and Annette Frenette; brothers, Roger (Georgie) and Ulric (Yolande). Also sadly missed by mother and father-in-law, Mike and Lorraine Hickey of McAdam; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Carroll (Frank) and Judy McIntyre (Stephen); brother-in-law, Tim Hickey (Susan); sister-in-law, Laurel Hickey. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by sisters, Hermine Sexton (late Guy) and Simonne Landry (late Roger); brother-in-law, Rod Hickey. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gordon Dow and the Nursing Staff of The Moncton Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Al during his illnesses.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. In Al’s memory, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
