LITTLE, LORNA MABLE - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mable (Hutchinson) Little which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 15th, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Born in Norton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lettie (Keirstead) Hutchinson and wife of the late William James Little. Mable worked for the NB Liquor Corporation for 18 years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #68 and the United Ostomy Association. She was also actively involved with the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess and a member of the Canadian Woman’s Army Corps. Mable is survived by her very special companion Buster Yearwood, sons Terrance (Margaret) and Timothy; daughters Patricia Marston (Douglas), Linda McCarthy (Peter), Wendy Poirier (John), Dawn Colpitts (David) and Leanne Straight (Billy); brothers Frederick and Donald (Hariette); grandchildren Kelli, Patrick, Tanya, Twyla, Peter, Jennifer, Michael, Lindsay, Adam, Tommy, Heather, Shane, Samantha, Leah and Krista, and great-grandchildren Eric, Jesselynn, Madelyn, Evelyn, Tristan, Sarah, Ethan, Alivia, Brayden, Sophie, Courtnay, Bradly, Brianna, Cody and Talon; great-great-granddaughter Maycie, as well as several extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband James, Mable was predeceased by her brothers Harold, Lorne, Gordon, Kenneth, William, Charles, Murray and Howard; sisters Olive Jones, Georgie Thorne, Gertrude Scriven, Myrtle Foster, Florence Anderson and grandson Christopher Poirier, granddaughter Alicia Little and great-granddaughter Abigale McCarthy.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation held Saturday from 6 to 8 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am from St. Peters Catholic Church (50 Clarendon St.) on Monday, January 19, 2015. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens immediately followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mable may be made to the Ostomy Association, Joshua Group or to the Salvation Army.
