Carole Ann Robinson

Carole Ann (Pender) Robinson, 76 of Sunny Brae, NS, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, NS after complications from a stroke.
She was born in Halifax on January 10, 1939, the second child of Frank and Jean (Boylan) Pender.
She attended the Sacred Heart Convent and Mount Saint Vincent Academy before attending Briarwood College. In her youth she had many interests including riding with the Bengal Lancers, life-guarding at the Waegwoltic Club and developing a love of cooking. Carole Ann moved to Boston in 1959 to pursue a career in banking. After successfully raising a family in New England she returned to Halifax in 1988 to re-establish a career in real estate. In 1992 Carole Ann retired to the small hamlet of Sunny Brae, NS to enjoy a simpler life. Sunny Brae is where she felt most at home.
She is survived by her three children: William H. III (Christine) Robinson of West Hartford, CT, Renee (David) Staples of Hammonds Plains, NS and Frank P. (Wanda) Robinson of Bedford, NS and five grandchildren: Kyle, Sean, Scott, Rachel and Dylan, her niece Paula Wedge; aunts, Polly and Dot and uncle, Gerald (Lise) and numerous cousins.
She was predeceased by both her parents and her beloved sister, Sheila Pender-Wedge.
Carole will be greatly missed for her kindness toward animals, children and strangers alike, her sense of humour and especially for feeding the masses.
Special thanks to the nurses in the Emergency department and ICU: Janet, Rhonda, Rachel, Amber and Brenda for their caring ways and Dr. Smith, Emergency and Dr. Jonathan Toma, ICU and Dr. Rasha al-Manahi, family physician.
There will be a celebration of her life at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS, B3S 0E1, 902-455-0531. (Exit 2A –Bayers Lake/Business Park Hwy 102) on Saturday, January 24 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
Following the reception, Carole Ann will be interned at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville, NS.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Feed Nova Scotia, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choosing.
