It is with many tears and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allister 'Babe' Paul, age 37, on Thursday, January 22, 2015, in Wagmatcook First Nation.
Born in Sydney, NS, he was the beloved son of Nancy Isadore, Wagmatcook, NS and Allister Paul Sr., Eskasoni, NS.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his pride and joy, his one and only son, Tyrrell Googoo, Wagmatcook; sisters; Barbara Sylvester (Darren)Truro, Kelly Pierro (Andy), Vanessa, Michelle (Ben) all of Wagmatcook, NS; and brother Allister Michael Richard Paul, Eskasoni, NS.
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Martha Isadore; his godparents; Richard and Ann Poulette; his godchildren; Blaise, Keegan, Ethan, Cassandra, Aaliyah, Rodney, Quaid, Korlaia and Tayla; 15 nieces and nephews; one great niece; several aunt, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was predeceased by brother, Daniel, in infancy; maternal grandfather, Stephen Isadore; paternal grandparents, Stephen and Margaret Paul and great grandmother, Mary Cremo.
'Babe' was the kindest, gentlest, and most giving soul to all. This was reflected in his love for his family, friends and all who knew him. 'Babe' had a passion for music and he was a proud member of his band "Talon." He was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and a great fan of the Montreal Canadian’s. He was an avid reader, fisherman and hunter, he also enjoyed the outdoors.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015, at his family residence after 4 p.m., 17 Forest Lane, Wagmatcook First Nation. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, 11a.m., at the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Wagmatcook First Nation, with Father Paul Abbass officiating. Burial in Queen of the World Cemetery with Meal and Salite to follow at Wagmatcook Cultural and Heritage Center.
