Josephine Groombridge

Josephine Groombridge, 91, of Halifax formerly of Truro, passed away on February 3, 2015. Born in Prince Albert, SK, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Digneris. Very active in her community, Jo volunteered at the Colchester Regional Hospital, and was a longtime member of the Truro Mel-o-Dees ladies barber shop singing group. Jo loved to sing and always had a song in her heart. She always had a passion for curling and was a long time member of the Truro Curling Club. Jo was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers and loved to travel; K-ettes and later K-40. She was an avid gardener and plants thrived under her nurturing care. Jo had the unique ability to raise one’s spirits; she was incredibly optimistic and happy, and she could make everyone smile.

Survived by daughters, Brenda MacNeil and Carol Groombridge; sister, Marilyn McTavish, and nieces and nephews, Janis, Gail, Patricia, Bernie, Penny, and Joanne. Predeceased by her husband John; brother, William; sisters, Ann, Marie, Kaye, and Stephanie. Memorial service will be held on Monday, February 9 at 2:00 pm in J.A.
