Betty Glydon went to her heavenly home on February 9, 2015. She passed away at the Herbert Integrated Facility. Elizabeth Moore was born on the farm at Carlyle, SK to William and Jessie Moore on September 22, 1919. Elizabeth was the oldest child of 4. When Betsy (as she was called by her aunts) was in her teens, her family moved to Regina. After completing Grade 12 she worked at Sears in the Mail Order Office. She was always a woman of faith and attended church regularly. This is where she met her husband Ralph. Ralph also worked at Sears in the winter months. They courted for a couple years and married on July 20, 1940 in Regina. They moved to the farm and she became a farmer’s wife. From this union 2 children were born: Myrna Joan in 1944 and Kelvin William in 1958. Betty was involved with the UCW and the OORP. She experienced health challenges for many years. In 1991 she moved into Herbert Heritage Manor and in 2002 to Herbert Nursing Home. She leaves to mourn her son: Kelvin (Orla Mae) Glydon, grandchildren: Brenda (Mike) Charabin, Colleen (Wes) Healey, Jason (Kris) Spate, Nicole (Rhett) Jones, Natasha (Ryan) Olynick, Terra (Brad) Olynick, Andrea Glydon (Kayle Schmekel); great-grandchildren: Gregory and Scott Charabin; Ashley and Tyson Healey; Dawson and Topanga Spate; Calder, Bryar and Blayk Jones; Parker, Cutter, and Huxton Olynick, Holden and Griffin Olynick, Jaxx and Harper Schmekel; sisters-in-law Doreen Moore and Sylvia Glydon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law Myrna and Ted Spate; husband Ralph; parents William and Jessie Moore; and step-father Ernest Crowder; parents-in-law Will and May Glydon; brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Edna Moore; sister and brother-in-law Effie and Ralph Horn; brother Douglas Moore; and brother-in-law Wesley Glydon. The Funeral Service will be held at the Morse United Church on Saturday February 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Linda Stumpf will officiate. Pallbearers: Mike Charabin, Wes Healey, Jason Spate, Rhett Jones, Ryan Olynick, and Brad Olynick. Ushers: Doug Moore and Kayle Schmekel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Sask. #1 – 345 3rd Ave. S., Saskatoon, S7K 1M6, would be appreciated by the family.
