It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Rita Sheppard at the Lachine Hospital, Montreal on Saturday February 14, 2015 at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her children: Calvin Sheppard (Beverly), Mona Bannister, Jim Sheppard (Karen), and Terry Sheppard (James Pratt); six grandchildren: Richard Bannister, Jackie Bannister, Cynthia Puddister (Jeff), Billy Crocker (Liz), Christopher Crocker (Brianne), and Mark Nicholson (Rose); eight great-grandchildren: Devin, Maggie, Makenna, Alan, Christian, Terry, Hudson, and Nathan; and sisters-in-law Betty Parsons and Ona Ainey, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Cortland Sheppard and grandson Daryl. Friends may visit St. Simon & St. Jude Anglican Church, Trout River on Thursday February 19 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Friday February 20 from 10 a.m. to noon from where funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made in Rita's memory to the NL West SPCA.
