Samuel "Norman" McLeod McKenna

It is with heavy hearts our family announces the peaceful passing of Samuel Norman McLeod McKenna, which occurred on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Norman was born in Kilmuir, P.E.I., on May 31, 1935 to the late Catherine (Nicholson) and William Edward McKenna. Norman’s career was in sales and advertising, mall management, and spent his last 16 working years as Fleet Manager for a local auto dealership. Norman was an active member in the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church and in his spare time, Norman enjoyed being outdoors and spending cherished time with family, especially family barbeques.
Norman is survived by his wife, Betty Jean, of 53 years and his children: Sheldon Norman McKenna (Glenna) of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Merilee McKenna Mullin (Derek) of Saint John, N.B. He is also survived by brothers: Bill (Anita) of Elyria, Ohio, Ramsay of Ottawa, ON, and David (Beverley) of Sydney, Nova Scotia. He will be forever missed by his grandchildren: Kevin (Lauren), Ken (Kristen), Katie, Jordan, Josh, Kathryn, Benjamin, Mark, Sarah; and three great-grandchildren: Rachel, Harrison and Reese.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his infant sister, Naomi Ruth, and two brothers, Douglas and Francis.
Norman will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20, at 2 p.m. at the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church. Interment will be held at Little Lepreau Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Norman may be placed towards the Romero House, the New Brunswick Heart Centre, or the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church.
