It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Helen MacMullin. She passed away peacefully in Kemptville, Ont., after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015.
Born in Glace Bay on April 24, 1946, Helen was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Kirk) Chauder.
She will be forever loved and dearly missed by her husband of 49 years, Douglas; sons, Douglas (Carolyn) of South Carolina, Darrin (Cheryl) of Kemptville, Ont., Darrell (Beth) of Eastern Passage, N.S. and her daughter, Lisa, with whom she resided. Helen’s pride and joy were her five precious grandchildren, Jennifer, Bailey, Keira, Caitlyn, and Duncan. She will be missed by sisters, Sandra (Gordon) Turnbull of Glace Bay and Lynn Chauder-Young of Dominion; brothers, John (Rose) Chauder of Lingan and Danny (Donalda) Chauder of Glace Bay, as well as her special sister-in-law/best friend, Barbara MacMullin.
Helen was predeceased by a sister, Ann, in infancy.
In keeping with Helen’s wishes, she will be laid to rest in Cape Breton.
