HILTZ, Theodore Wilson, 96, passed away peacefully in Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 with his loving wife of 74 years at his side. Born in West Green Harbour on September 29, 1918, he was the only son of the late Willard and Lavenia (Williams) Hiltz. Theodore was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was well respected by all who knew him. Theodore was in the Royal Canadian Army from 1943- 1946. Upon his return home he was a fisherman for many years and owned his own longliner for a time. He later got his engineer’s papers and worked as an engineer on draggers. He was a warden of Holy Cross Anglican Church for many years. After retiring he and his wife, Dorothy, camped at Kedgie and travelled for many years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Swim) Hiltz; daughter, Pam (Curtis); granddaughter, Yetta (Blaine); grandson, Mark (Libby); great-granddaughters, Sydney and Brett; niece, Joyce (Eli) and nephew Robert. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Jessie. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson`s Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to Holy Cross Anglican Church or Lockeport First Responders. A special thank you to Dr. Riley and the staff at Surf Lodge Nursing Home for their wonderful care of dad.
