ANTONIA, Barry “Burger” Melville, 70, Sandy Point, passed away with his caregivers by his side, at the Roseway Manor on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Born in Sandy Point on July 2, 1944, he was a son of the late Melville and Ruth (Firth) Antonia. He was a certified electrician by trade and worked for many years in maintenance at Roseway Hospital. Barry was a member of the Shelburne Masonic Lodge #30, Lockeport Taylor Lodge #62, Royal Arch Masons, Liverpool, Philae Shriners Halifax and South Shore Shrine Club, Bridgewater. He was also a member of the St. Peter’s Community Church. In his retirement years he enjoyed many motorcycle rides with his buddies, especially his trips to the Wharf Rat Rally. Barry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, the former Phyllis Chase, Sandy Point; sons, Barry Jr. (Sherri) and Jerry; granddaughter, Ashley (Matt), all of Alberta; sister, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Butler, Greenfield. He was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22nd from 7-9 pm in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne, where the funeral service will take place on Monday, February 23at 3:30 pm with Rev. Ed Trevors officiating. Private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter’s Community Church, Sandy Point or Shriners Children’s Hospital, in his name. Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them for refreshments, fellowship and time of remembrance at the Sandy Point Lighthouse Community Centre.
