It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monica Mary Byrde (Sampson), age 84, at Placentia Health Centre, Placentia on February 20, 2015. Monica is pre-deceased by parents, Patrick and Ellen, husband, Michael, sister, Theresa, brothers-in-law, Harold, William and son-in-law, Kevin. She is survived by her nine children: Anthony (Patricia), Rosemarie (Gordon), Harold (Annette), Michael (Joy), Monica (Sean), Geraldine, Gerard (Bonnie), Catherine (Brian), Joseph (Antonella), her twelve grandchildren: Karen, Janet, Andrew, Nadine, Jonathon, Megan, Harold, Charlene, Kevin, Toni Marie, Nathan, Michaela, and her nine great-grandchildren: Allan, Luke, Adam, Zara, Jasmine, Lana, Noah, Matthew and Lukas, as well as sisters, Patricia and Maria and a wide circle of nieces, nephews and other family members. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation on Saturday, February 21 from 2 pm - 9pm and Sunday, February 22 from 2 pm - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater on Monday, February 23 at 11 am with interment to follow at the Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, South East, Placentia.
