Aloysius R. Traverse

Passed peacefully away at the Veterans Pavilion on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Aloysius R. Traverse, age 92 years, lovingly known to all as Wish, honourably served his country in WWII in the 59th Heavy Artillery Regiment. Survivor of the K of C Fire. Predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Anastasia; his brothers, Bernard and James; sister Helen and nephew Jerome. Aloysius leaves to mourn his sister Carmel and brother Loyola. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his 10 children, Anita (Gord), Brendan (Cecilia), Lucia, James, Lorraine (Wayne), Helen (Harold), Mary (Tony), John Ronald (Karen), Carol Ann (Keith) and Corona (Terry). He is dearly loved and sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren, Gord, Geoffrey, Stacey, Bradley, Colin, Paul, Krista, Andrea, Lynnanne, Justin, Jonathan, Laurie, Melanie, Tyler, Kurtis and his 10 great-grandchildren Amelie, Daegan, Alyssa, Aubrie, Rachel, Twins-Scarlett and Grayson, Brayden, Lauryn, and the baby of the family, Mason. He will be dearly missed by the Traverse, Sharpe and Fahey Families. A fond farewell from the friends of York Street and co-workers at Labatts Brewery, especially his good friend, Vince Butler and family. Many thanks to the loving and caring staff of the Veterans Pavilion, where dad lovingly called "Home" and special thanks to Father Philip Melvin and Father Charlie Kelly. We all send you one last parting word "All the Best" We love you. May you rest in peace. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Monday from 6-9pm and on Tuesday from 10am-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 9:30am on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from The Basilica of St. John the Baptist, Military Road with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Aloysius' memory may be made to The Gathering Place or to the Jimmy Pratt Outreach Centre.
