YOUNG, GLADYS LILLIAN
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on February 22, 2015, Mrs. Gladys Lillian (Whittier) Young, wife of the late Mr. Arnold Charles Young of Pennfield, NB. Born at Rollingdam, NB on March 6, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Mary Emma (Noddin) Whittier.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Gladys is survived by her two daughters: Mary Jane (Michael) Mills and Alice (Donald) Clark both of Pennfield NB; six grandchildren: Michelle, Jeff, Heather, Holly, Andrew and Adam; 11 great-grandchildren: Gareth, Adara, Ryan, Janessa, Hannah, Patrick, Charlie, Ethan, Jayden, Colbey and Sophia; one sister: Pauline (Norman) McLeod of Pleasant Ridge, NB and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was predeceased by one son in infancy: Phillip.
Gladys had a caring heart and giving soul and loved to be in the company of others. She loved her family and her greatest joy in life was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She remained active in her later years as a member of the Orange Lodge, the Fundy Tide Seniors and the Harbourview Seniors. Gladys was a long time member of the Pennfield Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Her kind nature and warm smile will be sadly missed by her loving family.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. Resting at the Pennfield United Baptist Church on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will take place from the church on Thursday at 2 pm with Rev. Reg Ward officiating. The interment will be held in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
