Kevin Power

Passed on: February 27th, 2015

It is with tremendous sorrow and sadness that the family of Kevin Power of Chapel Arm, share with you of his passing on February 27 at the age of 78 years. Loving husband and best friend to his wife of the past 53 years, Vera (Clarke), a wonderful father to five of his surviving children, and proud poppy to his nine grandchildren: Kenneth and Lori (Megan and Miranda), Rick and Jackie (Bradley), Lorne and Stephanie (Casandra, Courtney and Christina), Elaine and Blair (Kevin), and Steven and Rebecca (Joshua and Cameron). We take comfort that he is with his daughter, Geraldine, who passed away in 1995, and with his mother& father, Bridget & John and his siblings Ned and Mary, his mother-in-law Blanche and father-in-law Josiah. He will be missed by his surviving siblings and their families - Tom, Johnny, Adrian, Susanna, Betty and Madeline, his sister-in-law Joan, his brother-in-law George, and his huge circle of friends. Kevin loved his family and friends. Time was never an issue to get together and catch up. He loved going to new places and meeting new people. He loved living in Chapel Arm. He loved the outdoors: fishing, "going in the woods", berry picking, ski-dooing - all of which he did many times with his grandchildren, or with his close friend Denzil Warren. We appreciate and thank everyone for their support during the passing of a truly wonderful man who worked hard all of his life to provide for his family. Words can not express our gratitude to the staff at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, in particular the doctors and nurses in ICU. Your professionalism and support, your caring and compassion will always be greatly remembered. Thank you also to Father Melvin for his spiritual support, and to Aunt Cavell and Uncle Harold for their friendship over the years, especially during this past week. Visitation will be held at Holloway's Funeral Home in Whitbourne on Sunday from 11am to 9pm, and at Sacred Heart Church on Monday from 10am to 12pm. Funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chapel Arm on Monday at 2pm. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetary.
