
Herbert Collins
The death of Herbert Burton Collins age 77, of Amherst occurred peacefully at Gables Lodge, Amherst on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Born in Maccan, he was a son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Spicer) Collins.
Herb loved wrestling, attending the Amherst Rambler Games and had a passion for playing cards.
In his younger years Herb worked for the NS Power Commission and for many years was employed with the town of Amherst retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Ann (Hachey), one daughter Lorna Collins (Scott Campbell) of Moncton, NB, two sons Kenny Collins and David Collins (Ashley Legere) both of Amherst, grandchildren Brian and Megan Chapman, Willie Collins, Connor and Kyle Campbell and one great grandson Rylie Chapman, one brother Billy of Joggins and sisters Muriel Farrow of Aulac, NB, Audrey Richards of Amherst and Gail Collins of Moncton.
Beside his parents, Herb was predeceased by son Herbert Burton Jr., sisters Evelyn Rhindress and Kate Bristol and brothers Ed, Archie and Peter.
At Herb’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Memorial donations in Herb’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the IWK Hospital.
